run and tell that!

As you know, at the beginning of the summer I was well, depressed.
I was just not happy with my life.
To cope with that, I turned to food.
I, like most people, use food as a coping mechanism in life. Horrible, I know, but everyone's got their vice, right?
When I was at the beach this summer, I was looking down at my body, and I was unhappy.
Unhappy with what I saw, and unhappy with why I made my body this ugly.
My mom turned to me and said "There is no excuse for you to sit on your ass. You're 20, healthy and young. You need to get up and do something about it"
So, I did.
And, I'm happy to say I ran my first 5K this past weekend!
I ran it in 34:22 and placed 182 out of 456 runners.
This was pretty impressive to me as I was predicting a time of 40:00 after only training for about a month.
I'm proud to say I finally set a goal and got off my lazy ass and did it - believe me, I hate running!
This is me completing the first lap (it was a double loop course) and just feeling good from making good time.
I was crying at the end I was so exhausted - yet just so proud of myself!
If I can do this, anyone can :) It really is a beautiful sport that changes your bodies in so many ways.
Here's to the next one!

What did you do this weekend?
