the maryland renaissance festival
I've only been to the renaissance festival a few times in my life. And each time I've gone, I've absolutely fallen in love with it - everything about it is just up my alley. King Henry VIII, Shakespeare, theatre, minstrels, oh and steak on a steak. Everything I love in one place. I have not been in a few years and I have always meant to go again every fall.
So after a very stressful week last week, I got a phone call from my best friend. She said asked if I wanted to go the next day and of course I said yes! I cancelled a few plans, rearranged some homework and the next morning I found myself in the wooded area of the MD Renn Fest. And what a great day it was.
We drank mead and wine and ate steak on a stake (and chicken and french fries and other not-so-paleo things) and I got to meet my favorite renaissance man, King Henry VIII.
[My friend Simone bought this $200 dragon necklace and this $60 mask all in one day. What great purchases]
[I am deliriously in love with how jovial King Henry's face is in this picture]
[My best friend's roommate was an actor in most of the performances - he was so cute!]
