Saturday revolved around hanging out in the frat house with family members and friends of the fraternity to pre-game the game. It was perfectly collegiate and it made me miss my Terps that much more. Once the game got way, however, I was quickly a 'Hoos fan for the day. There was a lot of rain that even made for a long rain delay where we left the stadium and had to come back but that made the game an even bigger part of our weekend.
Sunday morning David and I got up and went back on campus where he showed me around the campus (or 'grounds' as the Cavaliers call it). While I will always think UMD is the prettiest university in the world, UVA rivals it pretty well. The architecture is much more historical and a lot of the original buildings are still intact - when you walk along the main lawn the original classrooms and apartments are still there with students still living in them. They are beautiful and I would have given anything to live in one. Also: Secret societies are a thing at UVA, guys, and I kind of really love them. You know nothing about them if you are not in one except for the fact that they tag different buildings/sidewalks and I think that's one of the coolest things that can happen on a campus.
One of the lawn room's decorations - this one was my favorite!
Monday was a day of sleeping in late, eating a large brunch, outlet shopping, a big dinner and a lot of movies. It was a beautiful end to a weekend spent outside before things start to get chilly.
How was your long weekend?
