my very first car

Almost every free second of the past month or so has been devoted to looking for a car. My parents were kind enough to lend me their extra car for a year while I saved some money but that year is almost up. After a lot of looking, I figured out that there isn't too much more out there that I hate than shopping for a car - between the pushy salesman and how quickly cars move off of lots (you just test drove it yesterday and now it's sold? How did that happen?) there were just so many other things I preferred to do.

Luckily, my Mom is very good at car shopping (she can haggle like no one's business) and actually enjoys doing it so this past weekend she came down to visit and my month-long search was quickly over. I am so happy to say that I have my very first car now! With my own name on it and everything. A 2009 Nissan Versa and I am in love. I get to pick it up later this week and I have been counting down the seconds until I can drive it again. I can't wait.

Do you remember your first car?

  11. I love your car. So cute and congrats! Yes I do remember the first car I purchased. It was when I was in college back in 1975...my junior year. It was a 1966 Olds 88. I paid $600 for it and it was a monster car. But it got me where I needed to go at the time.

  15. Oh yes only too well. It was a gift from my boyfriend at the time. It was a 69 Pontiac Tempest he'd paid like $100 for. It lasted 2 days.

  16. My first car was a Hyundai Accent! I was 21 so it wasn't TOO long ago. I actually crashed it about two months after I got it. :( Anyway, Hyudais are totally safe because it was totalled but I was good to go.

  19. Congratulations! Our first family car was a 95 ford escort that broke down after I believe 4 months. It was an absolute piece of junk. We definitely learned from that situation.
